Cindy- awesome. thank you for sharing. I'm gonna check it out. Education is the first step in making the world a better place. :) From what I understand, they would be listed in the ingredients as methylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben.
I did find the FDA ruling updating in 2007, and while the FDA for now at least that there is not a huge concern, they did not negate the fact that parabens, can in effect, mimic estrogen at a lower level. Wow- that is all we need putting more stuff into our bodies that have an estrogenic effect!
Thanks again, for sharing. Very eye opening. I will most definitely pay attention to not only what goes in me, but ON me as well! Glad to have you as a part of the FOOGS.org community!
Hi Sharabella -
Sounds like you have it going on! Good for you... I only use all natural products on my skin. Like you I make all of them myself including my own mineral make up. As soon as I can get with Ty on this, I plan on including some of my recipes for you all - perphaps on the blog section. In addition to what you are doing you might want to try raw african shea butter. The benefits are absolutely amazing. You are welcome to read some of the benefits on my website: http://www.sudznbubbles.com/store/WsDefault.asp?Cat=SheaButter Let me know what you think!
Yes Rachel it is VERY interesting! When looking at your ingredients; anything with parabens will be at the last of the ingredient list. This is just the tip of the ice berg on ingredients in skin care I will be adding more soon. Hopefully we can add a topic for this as I accidentally put it under container gardening. :)
I think we need to have a soap making party, Sharabella! :) Love you bunches!
