For Our Own Goods - FOOGS

After last nights hour long hail storm and flooding rains here in Northern Colorado, I'm left to survey our minimal damage and count ourselves lucky. We had quarter sized hail, and lots of it (I could have shoveled the driveway last night). A small amount of damage to our backyard garden; some plants won't make it and hopefully the flowers will bounce back. A few dings in our cars that were unlucky enough to be parked in the driveway, and the roof will need inspection. With all that said, I know that there are "real" farmers that are truly devastated this morning: Over in Fort Morgan, 30 miles east of my place, they had softball sized hail and it wrecked a good amount of the corn crop during a rare year where we have had good rains and little need for irrigation.

Mother nature giveth and taketh away...
