For Our Own Goods - FOOGS

Seems like it might be a good year. I planted my tomatoes just a bit early, and they weather the late snow we had in Dallas. I planted my first trial on potatoes just a bit after optimal. Now, I have finished planting the rest of my garden. I have a small garden of only 2 small 4x4 beds. I am sorta following the square foot method. Today I added a poblano pepper plant, then by seed I put in the ground: squash, zucchini, cucumbers, cantaloupe, carrots, beets, radish, onion, spinach, watercress, corn, green beans, sugar snap peas, edema and some lettuce.

Last year, I waited too long, and the year before that, my beds were that well prepared. Lets see if third time is the charm.

I love square foot gardening! Sound like you are incorporating some bio intensive methods as well (what I like to call cramming a bunch in there!:)) Remember, we'll be up in Dallas on the 17th . I'm firming everything up tomorrow, so we'll have more info then. Keep up the good growing! :)

Nice Kevin! I saw some awesome pictures at a local garden- The Natural Gardener- of square foot gardening. The yield was amazing! Sometimes its so hard to get out of the old way of doing things. UGH!. I just planted crooked neck yellow squash, okra, peas, zucchini, strawberries and one little corn. My tomatoes and tomatillos have been in for a couple of weeks. I have several different varieties with different maturation so I am getting maximum yield at different times.
