Hey Folks!! Tom your garden buddy!!

Things are really turning green here at the house. Just planted 113 tomatoes, one of my cash crops. My 80 ft. fence row of vietnamese string beans is really look great. I have been clearing alot more ground for veggies. I have about 6000 sq. ft. of garden space. I have 24 raised beds 2x8 ft. long. Will grow all greens and herbs in them. This year, I will plant alot of fruit bearing trees and bushes such as: figs,grapes,raspberries,blackberries,blueberries,pomegranate, and pawpaws. So much fun!!

How wonderful to have the knowledge, the expertise, the interest, and to be able to put it into use right in your own back yard, how great is that! I'll be happy to have just a few pots right now!!!...

We're greening up nicely here, too. I don't have the space you do yet, but there is a chance to share space and chores with a group of neighbors in a communal effort. I don't expect to be able to do more than be an occasional participant, but even that is gratifying (and worth a little bit of produce when it comes in). Here at home, this year's highlight is 4 baby peach trees. My brother put in peaches and nectarines and had fruit in 4 years or so.

I like the idea of a memorial planting -- we are putting in a tree in Midland for a high school teacher who just left us but who now will never be forgotten. Wish I'd thought of it. Now that you've planted the idea, I think I will do this every year.

Are the Thursday talks continuing? I don't know where to go for current info. Thanks.
