Acts of Animal Cruelty Admitted by Egg Farm

The following link is a video showing acts of cruelty in an egg farm, it will be disturbing, heartbreaking, maddening,..... I myself could not watch even a minute of it. Yes, we all know about this, but even if you can not watch the video, at least click on the "Take Action" tab and let's have a part in making a difference, let's have our opposition heard and known.

The following is an excerpt from an article by Jake Richardson and quotes from the Executive Director of Mercy for Animals;

An egg farm in Maine has agreed to pay over $130,000 in fines because of acts of animal cruelty which took place at their facility. The animal cruelty was documented on video by an undercover investigator from an animal rights organization. At battery caged egg facilities across the nation from coast to coast, animal abuse runs rampant and of course in many egg farms nationwide, and this lends credibility to the fact that animals are abused in cage egg production. Comsumers can play a role in helping animals in farms be treated properly by being informed about their purchasing decisions. The consumer role is important, because government alone can’t always oversee everything that is happening. Informed consumers have power to share

With this type of cruelty happening in facilities, isn’t it enough to not want you to eat mass produced eggs sold by grocery stores, buy form local farmers with free roaming chickens, or have a few of your own.

Onward with hope and prayer....
