This is a different spin on the tomato sandwich. Start with a nice loaf of bread, we used Artisan bread for this, but french bread or something similar can be used. Layer with fresh sliced tomatoes, then leaves of fresh basil, then top with slices of Mozzarella cheese. Finish with drizzling Basalmic Vinaigrette. THe flavors melt together, the basalmic, basil, fresh tomato and Mozzarella all compliment each other, a light summer treat.

Comment by Bob Holsapple on August 3, 2011 at 11:12pm: Thanks Shari, I did not make the Mozzarella, but I bought it fresh. It is very tasty, hope you do give it a try, I'm sue you will like it. From what I saw of your garden, you should have some fresh basil and tomatoes by now.
