For Our Own Goods - FOOGS

On the road (again) - Tales from the local food trail!

So this is Day two with the FOOGS RV (pictures to follow soon, I promise!). I would have posted yesterday, but I have never driven an RV, so the majority of Day 1 was getting the thing outfitted with provisions, getting kids settled, getting used to driving it, etc. Now it's time to get on the road after spending the night in Pendleton, Oregon. I wish that I had gotten here Friday, because they have a Farmer's Market on Fridays that looks pretty cool with entertainment and (of course) locally grown food. We are here just before the big Pendleton Roundup, which is one of the 10 largest Rodeos in the world, apparently. We won't be here for that, but we did get to take a carriage ride through the neat little town last night. The kids loved it and the interesting thing about the ride was that the Horse pulling the carriage freaks out at stoplights (Red Yellow or Green - it doesn't matter). So it was interesting to think about whether we were going to make it back to our starting point in one piece. Gonna get ready to head out now - more to follow soon!
