Thank you so much for the info! We've got really rocky soil here, and no real enclosed yard, so this looks like it solves several problems at once! No rocky digs, no kitty-litter (or dogs trampling my seedlings!), and a ready source of ground cover when the season's done. Not to mention, a little heat source for those times our weather insists on not quite warming up for my poor seeds! Haven't priced the straw here just yet, but $6 is still a little less than the cost of a large bag of organic topsoil, which our poor-soil yard would require. Awesome! Thank you again for the info!
