Hi, folks,

I have decided to join this part of the group because of a couple of things. First I am from West Texas originally and will always consider it home and I maintain a lot of connection -- family, property, etc. I was in EP almost 5 months in '08 and hope to repeat this year. Beyond that though, my travels the last few years make it so I don't garden as much as I used to or would like, but I leave something behind everywhere I go. Somebody else will reap the benefit and I think it actually makes it so that others then share freely with me no matter where I am come harvest time.

Going even beyond that is the notion as I've read on these pages that spreading the word and learning from each other is as important as growing the food. So I would like to share this with those of you there and anybody you can bring into the group. I mentioned the Farmer's Market at Ardovino's Desert Crossing (Sunland area, worth the drive). It's not like it is at the other end of the Rio Grande Valley, where the market can run year round, so you will have to wait 'til May, but maybe by then you will be "up and running" and can start taking stuff to trade or sell (it's good to hope).

Here is some info I got when I was visiting there last summer. I hope y'all check it out, give them a chance and benefit from its growth.

Thanks for the opportunity to share.
