WOW! What a week for FOOGS!
Hi Everyone!
You may have noticed the logo change! This is one of three we are trying on for size. I think I'll leave each of them up for a little while then change it. Actually, I don't think #3 is going to make it, but I'll post it and let you all decide!
What an amazing week it has been for FOOGS. In just three and 1/2 weeks since we launched this site we hit 40 members tonight and have representation in many different states. Let's see, I think so far we have:
California,
Washington
Nevada
Arizona
Colorado
Texas
Indiana
Illinois
New York
New Jersey
How fantastic is that? We have done that PURELY by word of mouth in less than three weeks! So here's the really cool news: We have multiple investors ready to put some money behind their (and my) belief that FOOGS is a fantastic concept that will grow exponentially. So here are some of the really neat things you are going to see VERY soon from FOOGS
#1 - An Online Marketplace so you can trade your goods, stories, advice with one another. This is the original mission of the site, but has been proving to be a bit harder to accomplish than I thought, being a non-programmer. I think we'll get it done VERY quickly!
#2 - Consistent Branding - Logos, Fonts and Colors that will be associated with Foogs different components, but still maintain a consistent look and feel.
#3 - Additional Marketing which will drive the membership to support the marketplace. This includes Shirts, Stickers, cross-site marketing, and much much more!
#4 - Charity - We will be looking for ways to contribute excess produce from members as well as our own gardens to local foodbanks and charities that can use local goods prior to them perishing.
I cannot tell you how excited I am! I mentioned it above, but only briefly: One of the biggest developments regarding FOOGS this week is the interest of multiple investors. We have one in the process of joining the fold and the others lining up. We can use the money to fund everything we are gong to do, but I give you my word that we will not accept any investment that changes the vision of this site.
I thank all of your for continues interest, feedback, excitement, patience, etc, etc. This site is nothing without members so I thank each of you for being here as we grow this into the largest "online farmer's market" in the country, then in the world! :)
