Composting 101 and Dirt-the movie

I find myself in my new home. I live with two male roommates, like a reverse Three's Company. The boys have really gotten into the garden. When does gardening become too expensive?

I follow the blog "Former Chef," written by a..former chef...who gardens and who posts great recipes. Recently, she posed this question to her readers. I have to say, this is an issue that has crossed my mind, and it did give me pause. After thinking it over, this was my reply. Thank you Easter bunny

Seems like it might be a good year. I planted my tomatoes just a bit early, and they weather the late snow we had in Dallas. I planted my first trial on potatoes just a bit after optimal. Now, I have finished planting the rest of my garden. I have a small garden of only 2 small 4x4 beds. I am sorta following the square foot method.
